Wow, breathtaking scenery. I love the second shot - is the splash caused by chunks of ice dropping off into the sea? Very cool.

Thanks! The splash is as a result of "calving" or ice separating and cascading into the water. I was able to capture this event many times and have some great burst captures from start to finish, including the resultant wave.

Nice shots. I highly recommend Alaska to everyone. If you are into landscapes and wildlife, there really is no comparison....especially if you are willing to travel to the more remote areas.

Great captures AJ. I especially like the one of Mt. Mckinley. It is rare to be able to see the whole mountain at once.
We've been to Alaska three times and I recommend it highly. Ready to go again when opportunity knocks.

I love the shot of Mt. McKinley. We drove to Alaska in 1997... 5 week RV trip. The best trip we ever took!

I think the top of Mt. McKinely was visible for something like 3 days that summer.

Thanks all. The fact that we were able to see the mountain, coupled with all the wildlife that we saw, made for a truly amazing 12 days. I am ready to go back there and spend more time when I do get back! It is an awesome place and a couple weeks is just not enough!
