I may be picking up a 7d in the near future and will be keeping my 40d. On a recent trip I've learned that I hate to change lens and I really only take 2, maybe 3, lens with me on an outing.

I'm looking at this possible setup:

40d with 70-200 attached
7d with 17-55 attached.

I'd prefer backpack over a sling.
Would LOVE side access like my slingshot.
Not too big either.

Does such a beast exist?

thanks.

Check out the f-stop tilopa. should work fine.

You can access the camera without taking the backpack off. Similar to one of the Lowepros (can't remember which one).

Take a look at the Lowepro Fastpacks. I had a slingshot, but did not like the way it sat on my back, but I liked the sling action of accessing the camera. I bought the 350, but it was too big for my needs, so I downgraded to the fastback 200 and could not be happier.

With such a setup, i'd be looking to get a shoulder bag for easier access. The 2 camera setup isn't that heavy for shoulders.

thanks for the suggestions. i guess i should clarify and say an outing for me is going out with my wife and infant...love to take pictures of them at parks, around town, with family/friends, etc...

the tilopa is a little too big and more for backpacking in the wild it seems.

i've looked at the fastpacks and really like the concept (i've got a slingshot)...just wish i can put my desired setup in and have easy access to both cameras.

trying to avoid shoulder bags now, but maybe there are no backpacks that fit the bill for me.

anyone have a kata 3n1-20? think it'll fit the 7D 17-55 through the side and the 40D 70-200 down through the top with some reconfiguration? the 3n1-30 is a little too big i think.
