Griz,
There seems to be lots of cropping needed with most of the photo's. Imo ther is too much sky. A polorizing filter would have came in handy in most cases also, regarding the haze from the sun.
I'd have to say my fav is "Flying Birds". Maybe crop some sky and the dark forground and see what you get.

Agree with Conk about the birds; it's the best of the bunch.

Victoria #6 could be more interesting if you crop just above the tree and level the horizon. Then you'd also have some ability to open up the shadows a bit in PS without blowing out the top part.

Clear Sky is remarkable for how little noise there is. No way my G1 would get a clean shot of sky like that. But I'm not too into minimalism, so even if I took a shot that clean I'd still delete it... :D

Victoria #3 is really the only one with decent exposure. What did you do differently when taking that shot? That's the learning point from this series, I would say.

One other point: try to avoid a horizon line cutting straight across the center. "Rule of thirds" is generally better. (Not always - rules were made to be broken, but I think that one helps in most cases.)

Thank you for your feedback.

I am new to photography, and these pictures were taken with Auto setting just to see what aperture and exposure time the camera picks. Obviously, it varies alot and was not consistent across picture I took of the same landscape. I was hoping that the results would be consitent so that I could see what values the camera picks.

May I should have set the aperature manually and take various photos and then compare.

What I am trying to understand is how natural lighting conditions effect photo quality.

You folks have an eye for photos that I usually donot see until one of you point it out. For example, Mitch you pointed out that Victoria #6 needs the level the horizon (don't know how to but that another story). I would have never noticed that.

Anyway, through trial and error I will gain the experience.

As always, I appreciate your feedback. Cheers!
