Thought it was time I put up some bird shots.
The junior Robin decided to fly toward me and got so close he was inside focus range of my 100 to 400 L walked away and this is the result.
Mandarin Duck was taken using 200mm f 2.8 L, I liked the lighting just catching the female.

Beautiful shots Martin! The ducks are gorgeous, but too bad the male was in a shade.

Thanks for comments, I deliberately waited for the male to go into the shade as I wanted only the female for this shot, these have been used for greetings cards & exhibitions.
Please take a look at my previous image posted on my gallery again set up to show just one bird, also with the 200mm f 2.8 L both with D60.

This shot has been more sucessfull in competitions for me.

Forgot to mention the first picture of young Robin was taken with 1D mk 2,
400 iso
1/400th sec at f5
100 to 400 is L lens
AV mode
focus set to back button my norm is to use only one focus point. in camera sharpness has been increased.
