I had my rig with me. I just couldn't get it right. I over-compensated for the overcast and ended up blowing out nearly all the shots, AND I had the camera on AI Focus instead of AI Servo. I couldn't figure out why nearly all my shots were blurry until I was laying in bed last night and it hit me that it was probably the culprit. Sure enough, I looked this morning and that was it :(.

I guess I can take comfort in my timing; I nailed nearly all the criss-crossing shots with the Thunderbirds. They were just all blown out and blurry.

Overcast day for SURE on Sunday! Fortunately, the rain stayed just south of the event, so I guess we were all lucky.

Agreed! We needed some sun out there to bring out the colors and the contrast. Most of what I shot just looked flat and lifeless.

I'm reading all of these comments and thinking to myself that it wasn't just me! Thank you all for confirming that the day was terrible for air show photography. I tried to bring out some of the intermittent blue sky with a polarizer and, yes, I was also playing with the exposure compensation when things were too dark or too bright. Overall, though, I had fun with my two sons at our first-ever air show. I can't wait until next year!!!

Here are mine.

I did not enjoy the 1 to 1.5 mile walk from my car to the flight line. It was a tad bit long. I missed the days in which they would let us park on the flight ramp area. That's waht i did the last two times I was there. By the way, there was another airshow post Hurricane Andrew so the PAO got it wrong when they said 17 years since the last airshow. The last airshow was in '94 or '95.

Thanks. I got more but have not time to process them.

Overall, the weather started off bad but got better. There was plenty of shooting opportunities and great compositions available. The dark conditions with bursts of directional lighting actually gave vivid colors and background so I was happy with this show. Am glad I went.
