I was down at Boston this past summer and my friends and i encountered these guys near Faneuil Hall. Hope you enjoy the pics!

This looks like fun! The photos are a little overexposed though, and also, bits of the performers' feets are clipped off, giving the photos too much tension. The people in the background are a little distracting, and I would learn to control your depth of field to blur them out while keeping your subject intact.

I'm learning to be faster and compose better on the spot, but usually I prefer to play it safe in these situations and stand a little father back. That way, I can crop and compose how I wish.

Those guys are awesome. They are there almost every weekend in the summer.

thanks for the critique. from what i recall that day, i just use aperture priority. still getting the hang of using my dslr and learning how to use it. any recommendations?

While learning the camera it would be tough. What i would do in the situation is use M, take a few test pictures and use the meter and chimp until they turn out right. It looks like it was in pretty direct sun and i dont see to many shadows from clouds, so it should have been pretty consistent lighting. If you want to use Av, learn a little about exposure compensation and use that to your advantage. make sure you know how the image looks on your LCD screen and how it will be shown on your computer (lighter, darker, etc.) and plan accordingly
