I was thinking about the pop-up flash is on DSLR's and Compact Cameras, and just thought how it could dramatically improved...
Why don't they let the pop-flash swivel to bounce off of a low ceiling or wall? I know it's better to use a speedlight, but I was thinking it would be a way to help a camera novice appreciate different ways of lighting their subject. Also, it would be very cheap thing for the Manufacturer to upgrade - they would just have to let the pop-up flash flip further back so it could bounce off of the ceiling.
I'm actually thinking about modifying my 40D's pop-up flash to bounce it.
