Hi everybody,

I've got some questions about lightbox usage.
Reading up in the DIY section of this forum I've found very simple ways to make your own lightbox, so tomorrow I'll be heading out to get me some stuff to make it.

Yet there is one thing I have questions about: I see a lot of people here using 500 to 1000W halogen lights to illuminate inside their box, is it really necessary to have that much lighting power?

I'm asking this because I still have 2 or 3 150W halogen lights lying around here and thus that would save me the money of buying 500W ones.

Has anybody ever experimented with 150W halogen lights and were they satisfied with the result?

Thanks in advance!

Depends on how much depth of field you want. I'm certain you can make images with a couple of 60 watt bulbs if you use a tripod and long exposures. The advantage of the bright lights is shorter shutter speeds and smaller apertures for more depth of field. It all depends on how you want to work.
