I tried reading this about 4 times and it still makes no sense to me!

Lets break it down...

alright so I bought a 40d to shoot my wedding
He's getting married so he purchased a 40D to photograph himself because it's probably less expensive than hiring a photographer.

now my to be photographer is in classes to learn
His future spouse is in class learning Photoshop so they will be able to copy themselves into the wedding portraits which will come in handy because the photographer is the Groom and won't be able to pose for the shots. Of course, a tripod and remote shutter control will help matters, but composition will then be an issue.

Problem is I feel empty without my sidekick
I miss my fiance.

I need to let go for a few months so the person can learn it. SIGH!!
While she's learning Photoshop in another State, I'll have to live with a long distance relationship. I also am upset becuase the 40D doesn't have video capabilities so I won't be able to shoot my own wedding video.

I like ajbalazic's attempt a deciphering.

How about this take on it...

alright so I bought a 40d to shoot my wedding

Getting married, so decided to pick up a new camera to record the event

now my to be photographer is in classes to learn.

Didn't want to hire a professional, thought it'd be cheaper to buy a new camera and have a friend play photographer, but he has to learn how first

Problem is I feel empty without my sidekick....

Misses his new camera already

I need to let go for a few months so the person can learn it. SIGH!! .... end rant..

Has to let his friend keep the camera for a while so he can figure out how it works...

Hmm, does that about sum it up?

Can't figure out where the blanket comes in. Security blanket maybe?

Whatever it was....it was so meaningful to the OP that they didn't feel the need to come back. Guess we don't need to lose a lot of sleep over it.

I'd say the "blanket effect" describes what happens to a person's rational thought process as they launch into the path toward marriage...

I'd say the "blanket effect" = security. The path towards mariage leads to the "pillow effect" as in someone put a pillow over my head and suffocate me.

Which brings us to the classic joke...

Why do men die before their wives?

Because they want to...

Seeing that image still fills me with horrow (not at jacko's face for once) but how he could do that with a small child!

Nobody seems to have taken note of the OP's handle: "kryptic4l".

Now everything in the universe has aligned itself properly.
