Simple question

When going out on a day of doing some photography.. how many out of all of your shots do u usually actually like.. i find for me its either.. 8-9... is that common??

Depends. How long is the day, what was the subject matter/location, what kind of weather, etc... also how critical you are of your own work.

But generally speaking, I hope to get at least 3 shots out of most anything I shoot. Often, I come home with less than that though. Sometimes several more than that.

It all depends on what my expectations are of the day and what you mean by like.

I quite often go out shooting and come home thinging i have a few "nice" shots. Normally quite a high number as i tend to be quite methodical about what i shoot (ie i try to only shoot what i think works well).

Only occasionally do i come home with one that i think "Damn i nailed that" or "thats one for the wall".

I usually keep about half of the pictures that I take, but there are only a handful of WOW shots.
