I understand this is a photography forum, But I don't use many forums and i'm running out of time :oops:

Basically I'm after buying a 1950's dress for a friend for christmas, I've used google and can't find nothing i'm after. The sites on there are remade 1950's style, I'm after a genuine 1950's dress (i'll even take a photo of it when I get one!;)). I'm willing to travel pretty much anywhere to any shops (In the UK), if you know of any in the area you live?


I'm in London, I've looked around London, but can't find nothing as of yet? If anyone knows of any sites even I can buy from, That would be a bonus!

Not sure about the UK but here in CA, vintage clothing stores are just as hot as they were 10 years ago.

is there anyplace in the UK that supplies costumes/outfits to theater (stage) and movie studios? If so, they may have something sitting around in the back of their warehouse that they might be willing to part with.

I actually work in the film industry and have tried someone in drapes/costume dept. who is looking for me, but the film i'm on at the moment is a sci-fi, So not exactly '1950's dress code' sadly.
