I know it is right under my nose, but I can't seem to find out how to remove the line "Photos from" it is right under the exhibits name, I am able to add another location via the "set default photodata" but I can't get rid of the default Afghanistan.

In version 1.3RC that country string is built by function countries() in indexstyles/building_blocks.php.

If you set number of countries to zero in "Misc Settings" the list is not displayed.

Each photo has a country assigned to it in photo editor. Go though your photos and see which one has Afganistan and change it. There is an oversight in my part in this design which is that even if country and location are set as "hidden" for certain photo, the country is still read to indexpage country list - so check hidden countries, too (this bug will be fixed).
