OK, so some folks walk around a State Park looking up in the sky and up in trees for birdies. Some of us wander around looking down in the grass and sand for dropped quarters:):)
No quarters but I did find this little dude enjoysing the sun.

BTW, I did manage some bird shots too.:):)

I think you were very lucky to spot the frog. A real rookie's question. Is the line of grass in focus a result of camera settings or Post processing? I've never seen it quite like that before.

That be what people refer to as shallow DOF. :)

Shallow DOF, that it be, that it be, BUT I can't recall seeing it appear as such a definite horizontal line.

You get that effect when you use a long lens (300mm or longer) and the subject is very close, such as this frog (toad?) was. :)

Your frog is actually a toad. The dead giveaway is that he/she is on land, and has a warty back instead of a slimy one. The leg structure is very different between the two as well. Thanks for sharing :D

Birds we know. With amphibians we just take pictures.

Actually it was a frog but Ian had to go and kiss it. Then, puff, the frog turned into a toad.
