If you had to pick one from the above, which one would you pick?

I believe they carry equal amount of stuff for e.g. a DSLR with a lens attached, a zoom, a prime and a flash, along with some accessories like rocket blower, memory cards, filters, extra battery, etc.

Never tried the Lowepro, but for what its worth, i just got the F-4AF last week. I love this bag.

Currently hold the camera with 24L mounted and hood reversed in main compartment. 70-200 f4 IS in one of the lens compartments. 100 f2 underneath 50L in the other lens compartment. 580EX in outside pocket. Plenty of extra room in that outside pocket and other outside pocket. Front pocket has charger etc

Besides a few Tamracs in the late 80s I never owned anything but Domke... soooo, Domke. They are just "right to work out of". Built right, arranged right, the right canvas, the right amount of padding (minimal) etc.

Haven't used anything but Domkes since they came out. No reason to change, really. They work, and work well.

I've never used the Lowepro so I cannot compare them but I really love my F4. Just a great bag. IMO.

4 votes to Domke, nothing for the Lowepro yet!

Classified. Although I don't own it, the idea and concept are better IMO. The bag design is what I want. I have a DIY bag just like it though I would love the Lowepro craftsmanship, material, and most important...AW cover instead. They are two different types of bag though and I hate boxy bags. I prefer the thinner messenger ones. The 7MDH is my only boxy bag and I own it 'cause it was $70 new! :D

I love the Lowepro bags I've owned and I recently got a Fastpack 100 for small hiking outings. Although I may get the Kata 3N1-20 to carry more stuff. I do want a 160 but it''s ridiculous priced but compared to the Domke, not so much I guess.

Btw, the Domke 4AF's specs say that its canvas is water-proof, so does that mean that water won't drip in when it's raining? .... The Lowepro AW160 has the rain cover built in so that answers the Q, i.e. if its raining, put the cover on

The Domke canvas may eventually soak through if you're out in extended rain with an older bag, but I haven't had problems with any of mine. If it's that wet, I don't want me out in it. The top flaps cover the bag openings well, unlike many of the zip-closing bags where the zippers themselves present a weakness.

I carry one of those big, thick "contractor cleanup" type plastic trash bags in the rear pocket of my F4. I mostly use it as a ground cover so I can kneel or lay down on wet ground to get the angle I want without getting covered in mud but it also makes a great cover for both me and the bag if I get caught in a downpour.

I've been out in steady drizzle and light rain several times and never had an issue.

Never used Domke, but have three (3) Lowepros. That is one vote for Lowepro versus 4 for Domke..
