Interesting composition, but the tree looks overexposed to me, maybe it is just the jpg compresion. I assume you were using flash?

Well, actually i only used available light (each tree has it's own light). I liked the vibrant colours that the semi over exposure gave.... Correct exposure just seemed too bland.

I posted the 2nd image while you replied. I think I like the tree more on the right than on the left.

What do you think?

I like the 2nd one better. The sky is darker in the 2nd one. Very interesting compostion.

Maybe because I only saw one photo the first time, I think I prefer the first. The tree is leaning into the picture, whereas with the second it is leaning back, maybe my eyes just run left to right, rather than left to right  As I said it is an interesting composition and I like the picture, but I am not sure why, I still think it is too over exposed, but it is certainly different and holds your attention.

Hmmm... See, I can not decide what the better composition is.....

Having the tree on the left and thus entering the image and keeping you on the left, or having the tree on the right, thus allowing you to go through the image and then stop just before you exit.

hmmm....

Anybody else?

Some comments please They look lonely? ;)

Hi Johan, You certainly have good contrast between tree and background. (Where are these? What was the background?) The tree in both photo's look almost flourecent in the way they stand out. Either comp looks good to me, however there IS something to having it lean into the frame.

The background was night sky, with a light in the pot of the tree to light it (yeah, the tree is in a huge pot)

The 2nd image is a exact mirror of the 1st (Photoshop) - it may be darker due to compression.

So, you prefer the one on the left as well Bruce?

Thanx

Good idea! I might crop it a bit tighter.
