This was after a Touch Down catch. High school 2nd round playoff game. Can you please tell me what picture you like. Original or B/W

I real;ly don't like the selective coloring. Frankly, I think it rarely works, sometimes, but not often. I like the first better but I'd crop it a good bit. The surroundings add almost nothing to the image and actually detract from the emotion of the athletes imo.

I personally cannot see leaving the sidelines and up (to the players left). The only sideline player/fan celebrating is #6 on the bench. Everyone else is looking toward midfield.

I do like the fan section, maybe a 4x5 crop from the left shoulder to the right hand side.

Also - The selective color does not work for me (above), but when I covered the left side, I like it as long as the B/W gets more lens blur.

I like the original. Just a few quick minutes of post processing could really "tame" the
blown areas in the background. CS3 Shadow/Highlight, I just killed off some highlight.

If I could vote for what Joemt did to your image I would have. That's the one, and then cropping of course.

I did a few of the same things as Joemt, but the background detracts from the players emotions to me... I would have done something like this.

Yes, I have also cropped the picture. I like the fans in the background also, so I kept both pictures. Can you please tell me how you "fixed"the photo. that made it look GREAT.
