Which of these shots do you like better? Both, neither?
General C&C is also very welcome.
Thanks!

Second for me, very nicely done.
I agree with the second one.
I like the first one also just seems like something is off when I look at it

The second for sure, the wall in the first one is really distracting.

Second... the first has too much going on on the left side and not enough on the right. The wall crowds the boat & buildings :(

I think there is a smaller vertical in the 1st by cropping a huge chunk of the left off and at least half of the wall. In the second I wish the subject wasn't clustered so tight to the middle and the ship mast touching the shoreline. My personal preference would be to crop the sky by at least 1/2 placing the land mass in the upper portion of the image.

Now you're just getting picky ;)

I'd go for the second version also, unfortunately the wall doesn't make a good frame in the first shot - the shape is good, but its appearance is not. If you could have a wider shot like the first one but from the point of view of the second one I think that might be perfect, showing the boat at the intersection of the "rule of thirds" lines on the right with a wide expanse of water opening in front of it to the left.

The first for me. The composition is much more unique, and it holds my interest more. The wall is one of the big reasons---it looks like part of an old fort that once protected the harbor. The exposure is better, IMO, making the water a more vibrant blue. Coupling the blue with the grass & wall coloring makes for a very pleasing image. There is an overall warmness, which is not present in the 2nd image. To me, warmness makes it a very pleasant image to view. One final thing to mention---the water patterns are nicer in the first, because more are included. They add a nice amount of depth to the image.

Stsva,
I was going to mention the boat being in the rule of thirds, too, and possibly a little more to the left of the wall.

Here's a poor edit with the wall cloned out to give an idea of what might look good.

I prefer the second picture.

yeah, excessively so, in my eye it makes the ship a part of the other ship and shore ;);)
here is a crop which places the boat center in the frame ... I sharpened the boat and wall. Now that I look at your other one it is better for the lack of wall.
