I HAVE A EF 28-70 2.8 AND THE MOVEMENT OF THE ZOOM IS REALLY ROUGH I PURCHASED THIS LENS USED, BUT THE LENS WAS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. I TAKE EXCELLENT CARE OF MY EQUIPMENT SO I CAN'T SEE WHY IT IS DOING THIS. I HESITATE TO SEND IT IN FOR REPAIR FOR FEAR THAT IT WILL HAVE TO GO TO SOME GOD FORSAKIN NEVERLAND FOR 8-12 WEEKS OR SOME OTHER CRAZY NUMBER. ANY INFO OR HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
THANKS

Maybe it has got some dust or sand inside the mechanism, does it have that gritty sand feel?
If so get it professionally cleaned by canon. Sand can be a killer!
(could also please not type in caps, hard on the eyes :) )

Sorry about the CAPS, yes it does feel grity. Ihave never had it near the beach but did assume it needed a good cleaning, is this something I can do myself or do really have to send it out?
Thanks so much for your reply.
