Apart from the fact that it packed up on me on Sunday, the 1D Mark II is fine. The camera is now with the Canon UK Service Centre, where I hope they make a better job of fixing it than they did my 100-400L.

Very nice pics Glenn. Upclose and personal.

When did the MkII pack up? I don't recall you mentioning that!

Whilst we were round at Clearways. The rear LCD display stopped working, all the buttons down the left hand side of the screen stopped working and the main power switch would switch the camera on but not off. I tried removing the battery a few times, changed the lens but nothing seemed to fix it so I stuck it in the camera bag and soldiered on with the trusty old 10D.

Talk about pin sharp. Excellent shots as usual. Like the composition of the shots with Hailwood Hill in the background, the touring car shot in particular. The gold helmet is definately a bit much.

Sorry to hear about your camera. Hope it get's sorted soon.

All the best

Simon.

The two big Sigmas do make the 100-400L's absence easier to bear. The good news is that the 100-400L came back from Canon today and I am finally happy with it. Just in time for Goodwood and the Sunday of the GP. I'll test it out for real at Cadwell Park this weekend.
