I took my daughter to Coach Hood's Pole Vault Camp in Denton, TX over the weekend. Here are a few shots of some 18' vaulters from Texas Tech University.

All shots are with my 50mm wide open f1.4 1/500. ISO 1600.

Nice shots! It looks like you're shootng at night. If so, these are great shots considering the lighting conditions. where you using a flash?

Yes it was night. It was about 10PM CDT and half of the lights in the stadium were on.

No flash for this photos. The pole vault pit was on the track and I was in the stands just below the bar.

Pretty good for night time shots. Too bad you couldn't have been better positioned to see the athletes face.

I could have moved down to the track, but by that time I was just too tired :-|. ( I went through the camp with my daughter )
