This question is for Alien Bee owners. When you fire your strobe does the modeling light immediately come back on or do you have to wait for the strobe capacitor to charge?
It is just that I have heard that White Lightings used to have this very problem. And since Alien Bees are made by the same maker I was wanting to know before I went on considering them.

My modeling light (if I have it set to do this, you have complete control over your modeling light) turns off the moment before the strobe fires, then shuts right back on. The strobe only takes a second to charge anyway, so maybe "right back on" for me, may be a second too slow for someone else. It works flawlessly for me though.

The modelling light shuts off when you fire the flash. When the flash has recharged and is ready to fire again, the modelling light comes back on. (Only takes a sec)

I only takes a second if fired full blast, the way I set them up it is more like a blink. I work in a 24X24 room with low ceilings and have most of them turned way down.
You can also turn this feature off, but it is designed to replace the beep most flashes put out when recharged.
