Hello all,
Rookie here, with few posts but lots of lurking. I have just joined the DSLR and photo world all together pretty much. I have CS2 loaded up for editing. My problem, for now, lies in my monitor. I have a 17" Gateway CRT that was too dark, I couldn't get it bright enough. So I found a local guy selling a 21" NEC CRT and got it for a decent price. Well, come to find out, it won't adjust dark enough(it's too bright!) With contrast at 100% and brightness at 0%, it's still too light and I can't acheive pure black. I used a link posted here in the forums somewhere to set the black point and tried using Adobe Gamma... no luck.
Will a third party calibrator like the Spyder fix this, or is the limitation unfixable? I assume I need to shop for yet another monitor that will cal properly. Anyone have a cheapy that they want to ship me? lol Thanks POTN!
Mike
