I have three photos that I wanted to try to make an HDR with, but the result from (untweaked) photomatix didn't appeal too much to me. The sky was turning gray, and it just wasn't looking very good. Can anybody do better with the source given?

If it is the grey area in the lower left you are concerned about just place one of the originals under the the photomatix on a separate layer. Mask out the grey area to show the sky ( although in the 3 originals the sky is blown out). I adjusted contrast and brightness of your original HDR.
