1.4 sigma extender is OK by me

Put that puppy on my sigma 70 - 200 f2.8 for soccer and it's super deluxe. I would highly recommend it to anyone. Lotsa bang for the buck.

I'll second the recommendation on the image quality - but my lens which never hunts without the TC occasionaly does with it - not very often - but it does happen from time to time.

I was thinking about getting a 1.4 teleconverter as well. I couldn't decide which brand to get, Sigma or Canon, for my 70-200 2.8. Anybody tried out the 1.4s from the different companies? I would really like to know which one to get.

The Sigma and Canon work superbly with that lens,. either one you can't go wrong. If price is an issue get the Sigma.. if you intend to invest further in Canon primes you may want to go Canon now.. but the Sigma will work with any Canon lens the Canon TC will work with and offer virtually identical image quality.

With that lens I would not look at any other TCs brands other than the Sigma and Canon.
