Sleeping Bird Reduction

This photo was "made" by not cutting out the bird from the background, but by playing with the levels and curves to basically white out the neutral gray background. The bird was inside of a sun shaded tent sitting on a small tree. Since the background was of an even shade of gray, the adjustment functions were used to remove the background and bring the bird into attention. What do you guys think?

It looks great for isolating the subject. The framing helps out, but now I'm not sure the background isn't too plain. Looks good anyway.

I personally love th eshot, white background and all! I've only been taking photographs for about a year on digital and there's so much to learn. Just looked at your gallery and your work has underlined that fact for me. you have inspired me, wish for the day when my work is half as good. Off out with my 20d right now to practice! Than you. Best wishes, chell

I really like this shot. Are those the true colors of the bird?
