View Full Version : 1st shot at studio lighting

to say this is a studio setup is over exaggeration. but hey there were lights! and (somewhat) good amount of space to mess around with.

I was using a friends set of lights, and wasn't too sure how to operate them. Long story short I wasn't able to get all 3 B800 alien bee's strobes to fire at once.... so i just bite the bullet and did most of my shots with 1 strobe http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_neutral.gif Obviously most of the pics aren't full car because of this reason.

Those pics look great. I especially like the engine shot of the EG. Its looks like who ever owns that, put some goood time and money into it. Keep it up-both of you.

Good start! Keep at it! Did you know that you can put the cam on a long shutter speed & fire the strobes by hand?
OTOH, cars don't do too well in direct light. Take a look at this:

Love the exhaust manifold in #4. I also like the deep shadow look in #3.
