I've had a couple shots at some raptors the last couple days, but I still need some pracitce. Actually, lots of practice. These were 2 I felt at least comfortable sharing. Any ID would be nice.
Both shots with 300D and 100-400L.

I have some more of todays catch while the crawfish is being eating on top of a utility pole that I'll post up when I get the chance.

These are great. Congratulations!
The 1st is a Red-tail Hawk and the 2nd is a Red-shoulder Hawk

Thanks LP!
I caught the second out at Santee Lakes today. I saw the albino wood duck, but she was out in the middle of the lake.
I forgot to mention the photos are taken as is, no cropping. Just resizing for web.

Love the light shining through the Red-tail Hawk's feathers.

Wow, you have captured both hawks beautifully! The red-tailed hawk must be really close overhead. I had to cropped mine to get that size.

Those are nice shots Zach. Like Manny, I'd also love to be able to get shots like that. A lot harder than it looks.

Those are nice shots but I'd like to make a suggestion which I hope you won't mind. I think you might be better off leaving more room in the frame, I know its not easy with moving objects, but in the first on you cut off a bit of his wing and the second one I'd like to see it cropped so he is closer to the left side and leaving him room to travel towards the right.

Thanks everyone! It's always nice to get encouragement from fellow photographers.

It's a work in progress. I was actually looking at another RedTail in the first shot when that one came by. I was locked in a 400mm and didn't have the time to pan out a little. On the second, I thought I'd crop it but just wanted to show the shot straight from the camera. Sincere thanks for the constructive help.
