I've been really enjoying using my Tokina 11-16 for a couple of months now, in good lighting its been a total joy to use, but the only problem is at the moment i only have the built in flash on my 10d and will be stuck with it until i save the money for a speedlight 430-II or 580-II (which probably wont be for a while).
Needless to say the combination of UWA + lens size + built in flash = huge shadow.
someone suggested to me that i try a gary fong puffer to diffuse the flash light.
unfortunately there are no local suppliers of gary fong kit near me so i'd have to order one online, but i don't want to find that there is still a big shadow when using the puffer.
Can anyone tell me if the puffer will be adequate to prevent the shadow, or is there a better alternative method?
I've tried using bits of white card hand held in front of the built in flash with varying degrees of success, but i cant think of a reliable way of keeping the card in place, any suggestions on a good way to mount a card in this way?
