"Ducks" - C&C please

Hi! I'm new to the forum and thought I'd post some of my photography. I'm working on building up a portfolio, so any C&C is greatly appreciated. thanks!

It's a good fun shot. I like it but without wishing to offend I find it a little boring. I think its because there is such a large expanse of uninteresting water around the ducks. Perhaps if you cropped it in closer on the action it would be better. Also the sun is behind the ducks which means the sides we can see are in shadow, the colours and detail would have been better if you had been stood on the opposite side of the lake.

personally I would crop it in a LOT closer, make it more about them and their shapes, rather than the vast span of space around them
