Absolutely stunning woman and wonderful portrait! The only thing I might change would be that her legs look out of proportion. It stems from the fact that they are closer to the camera than the rest of her body and the black background doesn't give any frame of reference. If you used a wide lens it enhanced that effect. I think a pose like this works a little better if the model is parallel to the sensor. This was an excellent conversion to black and white. Which method id you use (my money is on Channel Mixer)?

Thanks for that. Only just started out in photography so I've only just started purchasing different lenses and comparing what each one does.
As for the black and white conversion, I desaturated the image then bumped up the levels till I was happy with the contrast. Glad you liked it, I'm hungry to learn everything NOW and there just arn't enough hourd in the day so any feedback is happily recieved.

Second one is very nice, 3 things I'd like to see different about the first one tho. First, the background is cluttered and kinda distracting, second I can see up her nose which I never find flattering for portraits and third I think thats the lens flash reflecting in her glasses. Maybe you could try it outdoors with a polarizing filter?

I'm pretty sure that's a "before" picture

Nope. His loss is anothers gain.
That is a classy lady, in both images.

Thanks for your comments. Without seeming bad and not able to take advice, the two photos were taken as before and after, so I wanted the first one to make her look as unatractive as possible, hence unflattering angle and harsh lighting. That said, it must have worked for you to comment on it. Thank you! be good, chell

Wow, what a transformation! She looks like a pro model in #2.
Great lighting too. She must have loved the second picture when she saw it.

For pic with glasses try to have her tilt her head down just a tad to avoid glass glare.

WHat do you use for lighting. I am thinking I am ready to work with some lights. I dont know where to begin. You seem to have something going. Hoping if you are a beginner it might be something "simple/cheap.
