I made it out to my local track for the last big race of the season. Still playing with my new toy. These are straight off the camera, no cropping, just resized and a slight bump in the sharpening. C & C welcomed as always.

I like these a lot, number 5 is the stand out for me.
Shame about the timing reflector in the way but then I guess there isn't much you can do about that!

Edit: I ment to mention, and forgot, the contrast looks a little higher in the first shot which seems strange as they are straight out of the camera?

these are nice, #5 is my favorite, it amazes how much the rear tires distort under start up duress!

I like the first series. Standing 'em on the wheelie bars. I like the camera angle better than the second series.
Good job.

I have to say the Baracuda in #5 is my favorite to, good looking car.
I like the camera angle better than the second series.
In the first shots I posted I was using my 100-400 and standing about 200 feet out shooting across track. As the sun started going down I switched to my 70-200 2.8 because of the low light and was standing about 60-70 feet out from the starting line.
the contrast looks a little higher in the first shot which seems strange as they are straight out of the camera?
I'm not sure why other than maybe because the light is better as they get down the track a little. As the sun sets the trees kind of shadow the starting line.

Just for your info in pic #7 the Camaro is a new class they came out with. They run on an 8.5 inch tire and these guys are running down in the low 5.30s at about 150 mph in the 1/8 mile. Pretty amazing!!

Thanks for the comments.

I'm not sure how true it is but someone told me the guy had just bought this car for like $300,000....sounds kind of crazy to me but you never know.
