How much sharpening did you do on the computer?
The roofs seem to have some noise.
Otherwise it is a stunning photo for the shapes of the town.

Wonder how that shot would work with a polarizer? Could take some glare off the roofs, letting more natural color come through and might improve the sky. Love this shot!

I would have liked to have had a polarizer with me for that shot, but you were limited as to what you could take up the narrow stairs of the bell tower with you. One Camera, period. No extra lenses, no nothing, no purse, no bags, it all had to be left in a locker. I knew I needed a wide angle, so I took the camers with my 14mm prime (Sigma), and my wife carried a single lens, calling it her "camera" (a 15-30mm Sigma). Niether of these has a polarizer, nor do they readily accept one, due to the odd shape of the lens. So . . . I didn't have a polarizer for the hot-bright midday sunlight.

Next time, I will have a Canon 16-35 that accepts my standard 77mm polarizer. Of course I may have to save up for another ten years to do another trip like that.

I am going to try to re-process that raw file, remove noise, and re-sharpen, as even in the tiff file it has a graininess that is displeasing, and it does indeed look over-sharpened.
