When it comes to cleaning I tend to first use a rocket blower, then maybe a lens brush & then a spot of heavy breathing & wipe down with a lens cloth. Question: do you/can you use dry Pec Pads (ie without Eclipse fluid) for wiping lenses & filters?
Thanks

I try to save the Pec pads for cleaning the sensor. For the lenses and filters, I use a rocket blower like yourself and a lens brush on occasion.
I have used a little bit of HPLC grade methanol to clean of fingerprints from the filters, too. It seems to work fine... no residue or stripping the coatings.

It's just that I've seemed to accumalate a lot of them & rather than not use them I was going to use them as throw away lens cloths.

I guess the pads are handy for cleaning residues off. The microfibre cloths work well too, but they collect oils and dust and require cleaning themselves.
If I had a big cleaning job I'd use the Pec pads, but I don't use them dry. I use a little bit of methanol and it evaporates quickly and cleanly.
