A few pics from the above event which starting in Pickering. An awesome event and a chance to see plenty of "proper" rally cars. The pics are from scrutineering at Pickering on the Friday and Olivers Mount in Scarborugh on Saturday. All comments welcome.

Absolutely stunning shots, the escorts under the trees are sublime

Many thanks indeed Tom. I thought the trees in #5 were amazing, they formed a perfect tunnel up the hill to the hairpin.

#6 is superb Darren. I would crop it a little bit from the left to remove the bit of spectator at the edge of the shot.
Now I'm probably going to get called a heritic for saying this, but I didn't think the RAC was up to much this year if I'm honest. The format is superb, but the event needs more competitors and something more than just Escort after Escort with only a few different marques to make is 'awesome' in my eyes. Great to see the cars (particularly those with history), and the escorts can be very entertaining, but to essentially watch the same car come past in a variety of colours 50 times is well a bit boring.
I think that this year the night running of Langdale took its toll as well.

I feel a bit of a muppet as i cropped the speccie out but uploaded the original. I hear what you say about the rally although this year the entry was better but i could do with more variation, but saying that rwd is better then 4wd no matter what the car is in my eyes

Not suggesting for minute they let 4wd into the rally. What I would love to see are more cars like MGBs, Mini Coopers, Lotus Cortinas, Austin Healeys, Sunbeam Tigers, Imps, Avengers etc etc
Plenty of other 2wd cars out there from around the right era that could compete.

We were only just saying yesterday that we thought they'd be more Cortinas then one  Hopefully next year

Some fabulous stuff there Darren, #6 is just an incredible shot - looks like the Escort has somehow got lost in Fangorn Forest!

After seeing your photo through the trees at Olivers I wish I'd followed you up there. It's a cracker ... will definately put that on my radar for next years event :)

Hi Darren, car and bag were packed, but my son was'nt too well on the saturday night with a viral infection, so had to get my priorities right, and dropped out. Our kid and my Dad made it to Ae though, and got a right good soaking again, and I think they wish they never went.

Love #8. Don't like #6, but that's probably just me, as I've never seen a "driving away" shot that I liked.
