Grainy Photos Canon S50

Hi, I have had my canon S50 for over a year now and have taken really good photos with it up until now. I am having problems with grainy photos. I have checked the settings and have the ISO set at 50 and do not believe that I have changed anything from the settings I had in the past. Any suggestions? I will try to attach a sample I took today.

Found that if I set the file size to large and Super fine, the grain went away!

I think I has something more to do with the quality that size... using "fine" should be more than enough for most shots, I do this to save space on my CF card. I do this so I can cram in more shots.
