A lake has overtaken parts of a forest in Bogesundslandet NE of Stockholm.

Maybe i should have taken a picture at f/7 got one like this at f/14 but the water don't look as good as shutter time rose to 1,3s.

I think the sky is as large as it should be, when i stood there it was hard to figure out how much sky or water i should have in the picture as the sky reflects quite well in the still water.

P.S. the ducks in the lake had no manners landing in shots with with slow shutter times

I took this image too with the kit lens (i really need a better wide angle lens)

This kind of image is not easy to capture because the viewpoints in which to capture the scenic are fixed and the subject (trees) can not be moved so it is hit and miss to find something that works really well as an image. It is an interesting subject and since you have limited wide angle capability perhaps you should put that 70-200 to work and see if you can pull some portraits out of this. The sky is a bit of a problem in my world so I tend to crop out skies I can't control or that add little to the image. An alternative is to develop the image with a proper sky and water balance.

Certainly work on improving exposure techniques and capturing as much information as you can. It may take bracketed exposures to do so.

Here is a print I made from #1 so you can see what is possible with what you have. I must say that in #1 (and #2 to a lesser degree) the tree in the center splits the frame in half and IMO doesn't give this area the kind of treatment it deserves (certainly not a show stopper) however ... this may be the only spot to capture the image from what's wrong with it anyway?

Tried doing some editing on an image that didn't have the tree in the middle.

I really like your last image. That's a little gem wouldn't you say?
