Are there any good companies out there that buy used camera equipment? I am located in the midwest.
I've was given a bunch of Minolta gear and really have no use for it.
Here is a link to a post with a list of the gear:

Actually the sell forum on here is a decent option. Old film bodies, especially the stuff that isnt particularly desireable for collectors is going cheap. Because you have a nice complete package, decide on a price and sell it as a lot or divide it into three or four parcels and and do it that way. Or craigslist.

Unfortunately, Minolta lenses are not adaptable (I don't know about the Sony bodies though).
Not worth a whole lot...

Have you ever purchased from or sold to them? How are they?

I have a Minolta X9 which I believe uses the MD mount lenses. It is my favorite film body (I have a Canon EOS ELAN too, but it's just not the same) but I only have the "kit" zoom lens. If you are interested in selling some of those lenses, I might be interested. I don't know what they are worth, PM me if you'd like to try and work something out. :)

I've bought used lenses and a used DSLR from KEH over the last 10 or 12 years. Very reliable outfit - if they say it's EX condition it's damn near perfect.
If you want to sell to them you can get an idea of what they'll offer by finding the price of the same item in their catalog and cutting it in half. (They've got to pay the electric bill and make some money, y'know.)

I will probably keep that one

I need to get this stuff out again and examine the quality etc. I may PM you.

I requested a quote from KEH and they gave me an approximate quote of $290. Seems a little low for everything I had listed.
I will checkout some of the other links mentioned above.

Keep in mind unless you are retailing it yourself, they are only going to give you about half of retail value. I know you have a lot of stuff. But in reality its mostly stuff you can get at garage sales for a few dollars these days.

When I first got the stuff I thought I would experiment with it...but in reality...my full time job, part time photography work, kids, and life in general have prevented me to do that. I would like to sell it and get it out of my closet. I may resubmit another quote request to keh and unload it.

Or do a more detailed inventory and put a listing in the sell forum here. Price it a bit above the KEH quote, if nobody bites in a few days then go that route.

My friend used to own a comic book shop and the rule is on large purchases, you may not be able to sell everything you had bought which leads to unsold product.
KEH may not be able to sell all of your stuff for a very long time (and value possibly going down on it in the meantime)...
