View Full Version : WORLDWIDE PHOTO WEEK: PART 191 - Entrances or Doorways
joayne
16th of November 2009 (Mon), 11:21
Every week we select a new theme, and then go out and shoot that theme. This week the theme is "ENTRANCES/DOORWAYS or even and EXIT" even portals to another universe or dimension. As always be as imaginative/creative as you like when interpreting the theme, creativity is what we're looking for!
Here are the rules:
1. Shots need to be taken between sunrise Monday and sunset the following Sunday. Because this activity is supposed to encourage us to get out and shoot, please don't post old shots from your archives. Snap shots and art are equally welcome -- just get out & shoot, and then share!
2. Post your shots at any time during the week.
3. Post a maximum of two shots if you're uploading them to POTN (i.e., attaching them). You can post more than two if you're linking to shots that are not hosted by POTN (i.e.,embedding them), but keep within POTN rules. Also keep within POTN rules about size. A copy of the size rules can be found here: IMAGE POSTING RULES (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=194511)
An index to previous weeks can be found here: POTN WORLDWIDE PHOTO DAY INDEX (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=170603)
That's it! Have fun!

I ran into this old item and it reminded me of the old entrance doorway that needed to be opened to insert a tape for music ;)

So I have a number of doorways that I've shot before in Tacoma and I'm not going to go take more shots of them since I already have multiples. Anyone interested in seeing them or shall we keep it strictly to shots from this week?

John.. That is a portal to memories! I almost always link music to what was going on when I heard a particular song.. I still have a walkman, the big Yellow one! ... and tapes, I still have cassette tapes, but no 8 tracks :(
Kody, I have lots of doorways too, but the idea of WWPW is to take the shots during the week.. so, I'm sure we would all like to see them, but lelt's keep to the rules of WWPW
<*after she broke the rules the week 189 (window and glass)*>
Post up some sort of portal shot this week and give us a link us to your older shots, cuz I'll bet they are on your zenfolio site..

Here is another similar photo taken today for the topic of Entrance.
Many years later and quite a different entrance (from my previous photo) but luckily for me it still plays the same music (a whole lot better!) :)

I think you are right about Home Depot John.. and as far as photos, I though it would be an easy week... I see portals everywhere :p

I haven't had an opportunity to use my camera this week. Been a busy one for me. Also, I've taken so many shots around my house I'm beginning to wonder if you're getting sick of seeing my house. LOL

People use gates a lot out here in the desert.. It seems that courtyards are very popular in the desert.. a way to have an enclosed garden.

Joayne -- The doors in your area are quite different from those in ours. I'm glad you shared them. A mini lesson in styles.

Nag, nag, nag, John.;)
But your nagging worked. Here's mine.
This is the entrance to one of my favorite cemeteries. It's early for around here, dating back to the mid-18th century. But we're looking at modern section of it.

I have no family around, but I have friends that I consider family. I'll be feeding around 10 this Thursday.
I think we all have people that we consider to be family...
We could also do food :)
*EDIT* I'll be starting the new thread for this weeks WWPW.. I going for Food or Family. If you don't have family close by, certainly you will eat something this week :)
