I hope I'm not violating any copyright laws here. I just wanted to share a funny photo. :D

Ouch ... wonder what's more complicated to repair ... the camera and lens or the photographer's wrist

Best regards,
Andy

Ouch! I don't know if that is more painful on the Boxer or the Photographer!

I'm amazed that he was allowed to get so close to the ring.

I guess if he is a pro then the L series lens will be pretty much nothing to him. Won't dent his pay check really.

I happened to watch that fight on tv and saw this, if I am not mistaken he pulled it out in time. At the time I was more worried about the canon than the fight. It looks like shooting boxing matches is hazardous duty sometimes, they do have pro sports photographers at the edge of the ring leaning on the mat to brace their shots at nearly every event.

I was also worried about the boxer getting more injured by landing on camera or the lens. But looks like he's losing anyway and maybe this wont hurt as much??

Golota is a dirty fighter, but I would not want to tell him that...mean as hell!!
I watched one fight were the guy stated to get a few shots in so Golota head butted him and knocked him out.

I assume that might not be exactly 'allowed behaviour' according to the rules of the game, right?

What's next, biting off the other guy's ear

Andy

It looks like a 1 series with a 70-200 attached to it!!!

I'm not too worried.............it'll probably knock the boxer first before it crumbles!!!

HAHAHAHAHA!!

From that angle, I can see the virtue of Canon's environmental sealing.

I wouldn't be so sure of that. I know a few photographers that lead a rather meagre life just in order to do the job they do. Once you are highly established perhaps but to take a hit by halfing to order a new lens the returns on that job have just be slim.

In actualy fact if it is a 1 series body, it can take some pretty hard knocks and then lens probably can too.

Depends on whether the equipment belongs to the paper or the photographer, I'd guess.
