I really like the stellar's jay pic!
So do I!!!
Wow, what a pic. And the nut in its beak adds interest to an already interesting image.

All great shots but the Waxwing and Steller's Jay are...well...Stellar.
I take it you used the 400 f5.6................I've got to get that lens.

Sweet shots. I consider myself lucky when I get one or two keepers in a day. Great job

Good point, Sheldon.
A great camera and great lens don't guarantee a great shot. ( It does help though).
I can't get over that Jay.
I keep coming back to look at it.
Wonderful shot.

All very nice! I noticed some BG noise on number 1 (Pine Siskin). Do you know if it's from a high ISO shot, or artifacts from sharpening? Most of the others look pretty smooth, but #1 jumps out.. perhaps because of the darker background.

BTW- I'm considering moving to Bellingham, WA. That's not too far from Gig Harbor, is it?

Thanks for all the comments.
Lead2Gold, the noise is likely a comination of the darkness of the BG and the sharpening. As for Bellingham, it is north of Gig Harbor about 125 miles or so, as the bird flies.
Funny that you mention coming to WA, I was born and raised in the East Valley, out near Apache Junction.

Great shots, I love them all, but I particularly like the goldfinches, they are different to the goldfinches we have here, you are much yellower, lovely. Not bad for one days work - I'd be very happy with that batch.

Daragh, the Goldfinches are in breeding plummage now. This makes the males very radiant. They look spectacular in bright sunlight. Thanks for commenting!
