A while ago there was a discussion about what features we would like to see on D-SLR cameras. Some people suggested live preview with a swivel screen, some said that it just wasn't possible with the D-SLR design. I suggested that a clip-on screen with a sensor could do the job without losing any quality at all.

Now check this:

Someone obviously stole the idea from my brain when I went outside without my tinfoil hat.

This even works with film SLRs.

Nice! Might be usable if it is very fast. Too much delay in image sampling system would kill the usefullness. I also wonder if the resolution allows you to see all markings in 1D series viewfinder.

Well, they claim that it shows the image in Real-Time. Sounds like a nice product.

EOSNOB, post a review when you get yours.

Seems a bit like a total waste of money for my liking.

I've got a digital SLR and I'm proud of it! All I need are some lenses, some more cards, a few flash guns and maybe an Angle Finder C and I'll be happy!

It could be useful for a few specialised applications, it's unlikely to be something i'd use, because of lag, and because I like viewfinders ;)

Hehe, quite like me. If I wanted a screen I'd get a P&S!

Well I'm going from a G3 to the XT and I think it could help me be a little more comfortable with the new cam. Thats how i'm used to taking shots.

I still feel the £116 could be better spent.

Although...it can have its uses...

I don't know if I really need one of these or not, I imagine there would be times that I could use one. It seems to be very reasonably priced, I'd love to know how well it works. Please let us know how you find it when yours arrives.

Hmm, wouldnt need a tall tripod. Could shoot at ground level. Shoot over your head at parades etc. May be useful at airshows and birding for a guy with a stiff neck. Sounds like a better idea than a right angle finder. Geo.:)

Hehe, yeah, just lift your hands with that 1D with 100-400 IS over your head, one finger on '*' to focus, the other on the shutter button and start snapping at the airshow

Luckily, not everybody has to like it (I'm a viewfinder guy)... but I know that there are a lots of people for whom it will be a godsend, if it's working as promised.

Best regards,
Andy

This would be great for me as I miss the swivel body of my Nikon Coolpix. I shoot operative pictures in the OR/operating theatre and this would be a real boon.

Sorry guys, but I've today cancelled my order of the Zigview. So, no review coming from me (not unless I get one some other time). It was still on back order and I simply changed my mind, concerned about its performance in bright daylight.
