Hello,
I have a good subject (this is almost a daily occurance at my house), but I feel that these shots always end up looking flat. I look at some of the other shots of sunsets on the board and they are always so dynamic. Unfortunetly, I do not have a large body of water to catch the reflection off of. Any ideas on ways I can make these beautiful sunsets look any better? Thanks.

Any reflection will bring some interest to the foreground, it could be a birdbath or mud puddle if you are close enough. Maybe try some off camera flash, or light painting with a large flashlight and long exposure to bring a foreground element into the picture. These might also be a great subject for HDR as the contrast range is too great for the camera to capture. hope this helps you find what you are looking for. Caleb

The first shot just doesn't have the level of interest needed.
The second shot would be greatly improved had it been shot a little earlier to give a better balance between the highlights and the deeper shadows. In other words, I think the foreground would contribute more if it were brighter than here and the trees were not as silhouetted.
