2nd Flawed 70-200 2.8 IS

Anyone else had this experience? I ordered a 70-200 IS 2.8 from BHPhoto over 2 weeks ago and it had a speck just off center about 2-3 inches or so inside the barrel (doesn't look like dust because it actually catches light and reflects back shiny).

I sent it back and just received the second one today. Same exact problem. I checked and the serial number is different from the first one. Serial # 2100258981. The original Serial # was 2100267609.

I'm wondering if there's a problem with a whole batch of glass. Just find it strange to have the same experience with 2 lenses of "L" quality.

Sorry to hear you are having problems, but quite frankly I'm not that surprised. I've seen a few copies of the 24-70 2.8L that were sub standard optically. One came from B&H. I also got a defective 35/2.0 and 851.8 from them and have since started buying locally where I can check them out first.
