Caught a couple of switcher engines pulling a short load across the mainline bridge over the Tennessee river this afternoon. Weather was humid and mostly overcast, so the detail doesn't extend quite as well as it could.
Here's the shot:

Good one, Tom.
We can never have too many train photos, even when it's hazy.

Thanks, Tom. This is also my POTN neck strap initiation shooting trip. Not the best weather for it (I wasted the sunny part of the day doing yard work), but it was acceptable.
BTW, I also initiated the 70-300 DO lens today. It's the lense's first trip away from home. :)
PS - here they are after they passed me - Engine 2372 is the second unit, closest to me:

How do you like the lens? I sure think the world of mine.

I can't believe how much I like it. It isn't going to knock the big white lenses off their pedestal, but it is a very good lens. And compact.
I just bought a 24-85 from somebody on FM to fill out the lightweight kit. Those two lenses and maybe the fisheye will make a nice travelling kit when I need to carry the stuff more than 200 feet. :)

Never saw a train shot that I did not like . . . now worries on this one.
