I will be shooting my first Wedding Anniversary on the 28th of this month. Does anyone have any advice, certain poses or pointers to give for this shoot? I've never done a wedding anniversary let alone someones 50th.

Due to the size of the family i've requested the clients to provide me with a group list of the various shots that need to be taken as far as which family members need to be in certain group shots, I dont want to forget uncle Bob, so is this a good idea to be done?

Any tips or tricks or advice is greatly appreciated. The event will be from 9am to 3pm, so nothing dark as most will be outdoors. Will external flash lighting be necessary? I currently only own a single flash with additional lighting on the way during x-mas.

Thanks!

Eric

I'd approach it the same as a wedding. Make sure you have the group shots in a sensible order, ask them what else they want - couple photos, photos of them with family, candid photos of all the family, etc. I don't do totally candid photos, I don't like them, I just ask small groups to look over and smile - takes 10 seconds and gets a much better photo.

I recently attended the 50th Anniversary party of a couple that was so wonderful. Their kids got a bunch of old/new pictures from the family album and used Smiling Snaps to compile them into a choreographed DVD show depicting their life together. It was perfectly synchronized to music and because it was professionally made, the results were awesome! It was so touching, the couple as well as many guests got emotional while watching those moments come alive on the screen!

I always try to get a really nice portrait of the celebrated couple. As I usually include about 40-50 wallet sizes of that picture in the package for them to send to guests.
