I been reading on here a lot and been searching and searching and finally decided to buy the Genesis 200 2 Light kit. I am a beginner Photographer and just do it as a hobby as for right now.

I have a cheap ebay backdrop kit, and just doing some portraits of friends and stuff for fun.

I have a Canon Rebel XT and when I ordered the lights I realized I needed a PC attachment so I bought that from FlashZebra. And it works awesome! But doing these shoots at home I find it a pain with the wires! So I want to go Wireless to trigger the lights.

What I want to know is which ones do you recommend and if some of these aren't compatible let me know.

Here's what I'm thinking.

Calumet Genesis 4 Channel: Link to Genesis (http://www.calumetphoto.com/item/CF0048/)

The eBay RF602: RF602 (http://cgi.ebay.com/RF-602-Wireless-Remote-FLash-Trigger-for-Canon-50D-40D_W0QQitemZ250520268011QQcmdZViewItemQQptZCamera _Camcorder_Remotes?hash=item3a542beceb) (I'm not even sure if these work with my camera, it says 50d and 40d, but a lot of people here have and like them)

and then of course, the Cactus V4 triggers: Cactus V4's (http://www.gadgetinfinity.com/product.php?productid=17204)

I know these are all in the lower price range and Pocket Wizards are the best but I can't afford those right now. I read that some of these triggers sometimes don't trigger 100% of the time or something I am not too worried.

Photography right now is a hobby to me and I do it because I love it and just do it for fun. :)

So any advice on which triggers will work with my Rebel XT would be great!

Thanks in Advance!

I've been happy with the Cactus V4s. You can get them shipped quicker (if they're in stock) from http://www.mpex.com

I would go with skyports. Since your genesis lights are elinchrom mount making elinchrom the natural upgrade path, why not start with the triggers that will integrate with that system in the future.

The Skyports are a little bit too pricey for me..

And egordon, Do you have just 1 or 2 receivers?

So far, just one to trigger one of my speedlights. I plan on buying a second one soon (as well as a second light-stand/umbrella)

But I used it at a wedding to trigger my 580EXII into an umbrella for the formals, and it didn't miss a beat.

Can't beat that for $40. A second receiver is only $25, so not sure why I haven't pulled the trigger yet ;)

Nice! And yes for the price can't deny it. I'll go with the cactus triggers

If you are going to just use them in your home you can use the built in slave cells on the Genesis and use the built in flash on the XT. I find that I can get my Genesis 400's to fire with the flash set to the lowest power setting it has in my living room. The builtin slave cells in th Genesis can be set to ignore the first or second pre-flash. Hope this helps John
