EOS 450D, ISO400, f4.5, 20s exp', 23mm focal length.
I had wanted to get part of Taurus in as well so had to frame carefully.

Nice one Pete . Did you try a shot with only the parklights on ?? That way the bottom part wouldn't be washed out and you could still see the road .

I really like the idea. But I too think its too much light at the bottom. I also could go without the car, but that's just me. Did you try painting the road with a flashlight perhaps? What did it look like without any lights?

Yup , I did have a look at it with just the parking lights but I wanted to be able to see the tree's as well, think it helped with the framing. The bottom right corner ( IMHO ) looked better with part of the car in it as it was too 'empty' without it .
Without any light the shot was just gonna show the stars , and total black below , apart from very feint sky glow showing where the telephone cables are .
It's a shot that I will revisit as time and conditions permit.

I find the headlights a bit too bright and distracting too, but otherwise it's a great shot and I like the title.

Drill holes in you bumper to attach shoot through umbrellas:p.
It's a beautiful shot. Makes me think of all those times driving and looking at Orion, thinking I should stop and take a picture. Thanks.
