The second one is actually an older picture I took only a few days after I got my digital rebel, which was my first DSLR.

Neither picture has enough depth of field.
The first shot has too much irrelevant material - need to zoom in on the one blossom.
The second picture is a little too close up - it needs more context (zoom out).

I'm really liking the first pic, maybe crop up from the bottom to try to eliminate some of that oof flower?

I LOVE #2. Just because of the subject.

I LOVE #2. Just because of the subject.I as well love the subject of number two but would have liked to see more of the subject and more of it in focus. Its a kitten right?

I am no expert but I really like #1 and I agree with zooming out some on #2 but it is a great capture.

I agree with Bob, the second one is too close in my opinion. Nice capture either way though.

Thanks for the cc :D
The second one, I was just holding my camera as far away as I could get it, which was about a foot, and snapping pictures. It was two days after I got the camera and I was just playing around with it. I'll have to try getting another sometime with my 50D.
And she's not a kitten. She's about 8 years old now.
Here's a few more of her.
This was taken the same day as the second pic in the first post. Just messing around.
I thought she looked funny here with that little bit of her tongue sticking out. Luckily I had my camera sitting next to me
And one of my other cat.
