I was only able to make it to saturday's qualifying since I've got a new baby at home, but it was a great day of racing that went well into the night. Here's my take on it...

1. A little different view - wanted to get a bit of the crowd

2. Top Fuel

3. One of the Alcohol Funny cars ended up on his lid (with the body on the bottom of the car, somehow).

Great action shots! If you work it right you can get as good or better shots from the stands at these events than the track photogs. Looks you did a great job. I'm looking forwrd to April, 2010 when they come to Baytown, Texas.

Good question, and I don't think I have a good answer. I will admit, I've been a bit carried away with the tilt before and have been trying to watch it, but maybe I need to pay a little more attention to it.

Highly recommended to see these guys in person. No amount of trying to explain the sound and feeling will ever do it justice. Truly incredible.

#2 and #4 are stunning photographs. The whole series is good. #1 delivers on the people aspect.

Great shots!!! Can you share some of the technical aspects like camera, lens, shutter speeds, f-stop, iso, how far from the track.

Awsome shots. I read the 5DMKII was not for sports. You provided them wrong. I like the tilt - gives it a different look.
