I really don't have the correct lens to take the shots I want but could you all take a look and see if the compisition is good and things I need to look for. Since I was a volunteer I really did not have much time to take shots.

Do I need to reach a certain level before I can post more than 2 images at a time? I see some that place 10 or more in the sme message.

5 and 6. The first one was just playing when the pro hit to the green most were getting a lot of spin on the ball and this one the ball is actually a couple feet in the air (you can see the shadow just below the ball) and spun back about 15 feet.

There was a post from a moderator somewhere about having links rather than embedding pics. I've never put any on so I don't know about there being a limit.

What did you mean about not having the right lens? I assume, as you have 300mm at the long end (x1.6) that you do not refer to reach. Must be DOF (?)...

I think the photos are great; it's nice to see the facial expressions (Davis) and the action shot of Lee Westward's swing is excellent.

Does being a volunteer give you more access to players? Is there a conflict of interest issue at all or is it open slather with the photos? (Imagine a rules official called in who whips out his camera while saying, "Ibelieve it's a free drop; smile Ernie!") I imagine in your case it's OK in your spare time. It's a great opportunity though; I'm jealous.

Thanks for the reply and I was using the 70-300 but don't think it is as sharp as I would like at 300. This is why I need to spend some money for some L glass. Without a press pass I could not shoot during the tournament, just the practice rounds. I was able to get inside the ropes and a little closer.

I see. Pity an Aussie didn't win.

Next week hey? It's a great opportunity you have.

Re the lens issue: I thought they looked pretty sharp. Some folks seem pretty harsh on a few of the consumer lens line.
